Stereo-visualization of analysis results

To visualize the results of the strength analysis in Patrn/Nastran developed special software.
This includes the program - Converter v. 3.0, which was written in the programming language Visual Basic. The initial data are: the finite-element model of a single-contour geodesic shell, the values of displacements of grid nodes, the value of the von Mises stress in finite elements. This information is stored in files formed by standard Patran postprocessor tools. The output is a file in external X format, containing a geometric model of a undeformed/deformed single-contour geodesic shell with the display of stresses in the form of a color fill or without display.
The second program - StereoViewer v.3.1 allows you to form an image of the elements of the geodesic shell with stereo mode. To implement the program StereoViewer v.3.1, the system of graphic components of the Microsoft DirectX SDK company was used. The program was written in the programming language Visual C ++.
To implement the stereo mode, the program performs the output of two images (for the left eye and for the right eye) on one surface. The program StereoViewer v.3.1 provides a budget solution for stereo using standard anaglyph glasses (red/green filter) without using a stereo driver.

As an example of the work of the StereoViewer v.3.1 program, the following figure shows the visualization of an undeformed geometric model of a single-contour geodesic dome.
